The Author Christmas Tag

This tag is so ridiculously late that it’s extremely awkward to post it now… I thought I was doing really good with getting stuff out on time and even scheduled a few things over Christmas break, but it turns out that every single post I wrote went to my drafts instead of publishing to my blog. I don’t know if something updated, something decided not to play nice with a screen reader, or if it was just an idiotic operator error on my part, but yeah… I almost took over all your inboxes by hitting post all, but I thought better of it, which explains why you’re getting a Christmas tag after Christmas. I am also very sorry to Lia and everyone else participating in Short Story Society! All of my short stories were in those posts that went to drafts. They are now for sure scheduled to post over the next few days, but I had a couple things like this that had to go out in a specific time frame.
I saw this tag floating around youTube, (it’s actually called The Author Tube Christmas Tag), and decided to do it because I had some super fun answers for my characters! It was originally created by Living Within Fiction, and the rules are simple: just answer the questions given for a character of your choosing! I’m not tagging anyone because it’s so late, but feel free to do it and leave me a link in the comments if you want!

  1. What would your main character’s favorite Christmas song be?
Umm… My main character would avoid Christmas music like the plague.
  2. Pick one of your characters. What would be on their Christmas wish list?
Nico would be quite happy with a new knife or sketchbook.
  3. Which one of your characters, as an adult, would still believe in Santa Claus?
Honestly probably none of them… I guess Diana would be the most likely, but she’d only do it to irritate her sister.
  4. Would your MC drink eggnog? If not, what would their Christmas go-to drink be?
I’m just gonna do all my POV characters!
Nico would only drink it if it was mixed with alcohol or Bliss, which is a magical drug that I made up.
Ela might drink the kind that has those weird sweet flavors like coconut and stuff in it.
Adam would be more likely to drink something like a peppermint mocha.
  5. Out of all of your characters, who would be the best gift giver?
Definitely Adam or Ela! They’d both put a lot of thought into the gifts for the people they cared about.
  6. Your MC got a gift that he/she hated. What would he/she do?
Well Nico doesn’t ever show much emotion, so you’d never know he hated it unless you really knew him well!
  7. Does your MC sleep in on Christmas, or wake up early with excitement?
Nico gets up insanely early every day.
Ela would be the one you’d have to drag out of bed.
Adam would be cool with whatever.
  8. What would be your MC’s favorite part about the Holidays?
Nico would be excited to get out of school, but he’d also hate having to go to all his family gatherings.
Adam would love all the shaman rituals and traditions.
Ela would love being out of school and getting to party with her friends.
  9. Your MC and his/her love interest step under the mistletoe. What happens?
Nico and his love interest, (I am not telling who it is), would just look at each other, and laugh, and look away, and then they’d probably just walk off in opposite directions because their rebels like that.
Adam and his love interest would kiss because that’s just what you do under mistletoe.
  10. Which of your characters would you find in the kitchen making Christmas treats?
Definitely Raquel Blackthorn! She’s kind of the grandmother of the whole group.
  11. Lastly, a question for the author. What are some of your favorite books to read during the holidays?
Harry Potter!!! I’ve spent the last couple days reading Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Awesome Gifts for Writers

It’s Christmas time!!! I gotta admit that I’ve been in a bit of a “bah humbugish” mood lately because of school and a small plague, (aka this stupid cold), but I’m coming around now that it’s December and it actually feels like winter around here. Anyway… Rambling aside… I thought I’d compile a list of bookish and writerly Christmas gifts! This list is in no particular order; it’s either things that I’ve received/bought myself in the past or have on my wish list this year.

Cheyenne’s Bookish And Writerly Gift Guide:

•Notebooks, journals, cool paper, etc…
While we writerly types tend to do the majority of our official novel drafting by keyboard rather than pen, we still gotta have our cool paper and journals for scribbled notes and ideas! I am currently obsessed with traveler’s notebooks, which are awesome because you can have multiple notebooks in one leather journal cover! And maybe the leather cover makes me feel like a fancy writer person… I think I probably totally killed that image by saying “writer person…” If you still have no idea what a traveler’s notebook is after reading the introduction, (linked above), I’d be happy to do an introduction/review/much better explanation than this is turning out to be of how I use mine when I can breathe through my nose!
•Fancy pens! (Blind writers can either substitute a slate and stylus or send me horrified emojies in the comments for daring to use such in today’s age as they’ve been doing on twitter.)
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Ya gotta have a cool writing utensil to write in that fancy journal.
•Books!
This one goes for both writers and your typical bookworms. You could even get really innovative and give a writer a book about writing! I’m currently inthralled in Tarot For Writers if you don’t wanna have to search.
•Cool bookmarks
Writers like shiny things. We really like shiny things that we can apply to books or writing. Bookmarks are perfect, and bookmarks for traveler’s notebooks usually have dangling charms that make pretty noises and make writers like myself very happy! Or maybe I might be very easily amused???
•Writerly clothing
Did you immediately conjure up a picture of a professor looking guy in an ink-stained leather jacket, or was that just me? If you didn’t, that’s totally fine, because I’m not talking about that! Writers like to be comfy, and you can find lots of writerly T-shirts. Seriously! Just Google it! I mean Google, “Writerly T-shirts,” not, “IT.” I currently own several writerly T-shirts, (thank you, Mom and Grandparents, for the writerly birthday gifts), my favorite of which says, “Please do not annoy the writer. She may put you in a book and kill you!” It also has a raised up fountain pen and dagger on it, probably because I text the dagger emoji way too often… No, I’m not crazy; it’s just my angry emoji!
•Writerly jewelry.
This might vary for different writers, (depending on whether they like jewelry or not), but I have a couple of things that I wear whenever I sit down to write. My jewelry isn’t specifically writerly, and honestly I don’t know when, why, or how I started wearing it for writing, but I usually have my peridot ring, my copper Triskelion ring, and my angel wing locket necklace when I sit down to write. However, if you Google, “Writer jewelry,” you’ll get some more specific writer things! I recently watched a youTube video by Emmalederman about writerly gifts, and she has a ring with the names of her characters engraved on it. Here is her video if you wanna check it out…

•iTunes/Amazon/Barnes & Noble gift cards.
If you reeeeeeeally don’t wanna go out of your way to find your writerly friend a gift, this’ll do the trick! I promise they will find something from one of the stores above!

Share your writerly wish list?

Did I miss anything? Is there anything cool on your bookish or writerly wish list? I’d also love to know what books you want, (because my TBR only consists of 52 books at the moment.) 😜

The Harry Potter Writing Cup

Hey, writerly people! If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen some discussions about the “HP Writing Cup.” Some blogger friends and I have been chatting about a little writing contest idea, and this is the official announcement that it will be happening, but the unofficial plan! So to simplify that a bit… It’s gonna happen, but we’re still working out the specifics!
I have teamed up with Trisha, Tanya, and Megan to host this fun challenge. Like I said above, I don’t have the plan/schedule set in stone yet, but here are the basics:

•We’ll pick a month, (probably January), and the challenge will run for the length of that month.
•Every word written in that month counts as a point for your Harry Potter house. (I’ll have a form up soon for you to tell us your house and some other info.)
•Any creative writing counts, (including blog posts!)
•We’ll host Twitter chats about bookish and writerly things! (Ya gotta have a Twitter account if you wanna do the really fun stuff.)
•Someone will head each house, (as of now, Trisha is heading Slytherin, Megan is heading Hufflepuff, Tanya is heading Gryffindor, and I am heading Ravenclaw.) The head of each house will host word sprints for their group, and maybe have some fun extra prompts/challenges.
•We’ll come up with ways to earn extra points so it isn’t all writing. (Suggestions welcome!)
•You need to be following all of us to see important updates if you wanna participate!
•Your input is needed! Do you have a suggestion about how to improve this? Drop me a line in the comments, or let Trisha, tanya, or Megan know on their blogs! You can also message me on Twitter @Cheyenne_writes!

Beautiful Books 2016: Novel Update!

Hey… I have a NaNoWriMo update for all you lovely followers of mine… And it’s not going to be a good one…

This is the second stage of Beautiful Books 2016, and it is hosted by the amazing Cait @ Paper Fury! You guys should just click that link and go read all the other posts in the beautiful Books 2016 link-up because I’m sure the majority of the NaNoWriMo community will have better news to report than I do… But here goes nothing! I shall answer these ten questions since I already did stage 1, and then I shall go curl up in bed and try to sleep because I have to get up insanely early tomorrow so I can get school work done since I have an insanely busy week that requires me to get up insanely early every morning, and I will most likely end up dreaming about how I could be writing instead of doing psychology and algebra and history and medical terminology and chemistry. That was possibly the worst run on sentence I have EVER written, so I’m just gonna answer those questions now!

  1. Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going?

Ummm… Insert screaming and crying emoji here! Basically, this post still applies… I am drowning in school work, I have tech training Tuesday, and I’ll be in the car/hospital waiting rooms for most of Wednesday and Thursday and won’t be home until reeeeeeeally late Thursday night. And for my novel? I have ONE day’s worth of writing! I told you this wasn’t gonna be good! But the good news is that all that time in the car will give me at least fourteen hours of writing time! It might not be legible, but I WILL catch up! Maybe… I don’t care if I lose Nano, but I am NOT going to lose it this badly…

  1. What’s your first sentence (or paragraph)?

Oh good! I can answer this! Here’s my first paragraph:

Looking up from the pages of his sketchbook, Nico Deverow let his icy blue gaze slide over Adam and Pennryn Rachadon with a practiced indifference. He was pretty sure he’d just been asked to serve as Adam’s “guide and mentor as he got to know the wonderful school,” but he couldn’t really be sure because of the fuzziness in his head. Adam’s colors were strange, shimmering around him like a silvery mist and then fading into the air like a chameleon would fade into it’s environment. It wasn’t normal, and Nico didn’t like it. He saw enough abnormal things that nobody should ever have to see on an hourly basis; he didn’t need abnormal people on top of it. And his Aunt and Uncle would have a fit if they found out he was “guiding and mentoring” a Rachadon. It might taint their precious reputation, and the idea of that made Nico sick and ecstatic at the same time.

  1. Who’s your current favorite character in your novel?

I LOVE Nico’s character! His POV is really dark, but it’s SO fun to write!

  1. What do you love about your novel so far?

You mean what do i love about the 1670 words of my novel? Everything! Ok, so, the words themselves aren’t that great, but I love the world, and the people, and the tone, and the theme, and just every aspect of the story! what’s not to love about a messed up society of royal mist born and a couple of kids rebelling against that society to become shamans?!

  1. Have you made any hilarious typos or other mistakes?

Not that I know of, but I haven’t actually read it that closely… I do know that my screenreader can’t say any of my character names correctly, and it’s about to drive me up the wall. Also it keeps insisting that all the names are misspelled, and that is slightly concerning because autocorrect tends to step in without my knowledge and turn things into other things that just really do not belong in my story!

  1. What is your favorite to write-beginning, middle, or end-and why?

I think that’s a tie between beginning and end! I can write an awesome start and an epic ending, but the middle sometimes makes me want to crawl in a hole and read somebody else’s already published book.

  1. What are your writing habits? Is there a specific snack you eat? Do you listen to music? What time of day to you write best? Feel free to show us a picture of your writing space!

I don’t typically eat anything whilst i’m writing. I can’t stand crumbs on my notebooks, and refreshable braille displays plus food equals BAD day! Basically, a braille display consists of a bunch of tiny pinholes for the dots to pop up and show me what’s on my computer screen, and when stuff gets in those holes, I get some weird words! And then I end up sending the thing back to the company to be cleaned and explaining how chocolate got in there… And that’s not fun! Snacks are distracting anyway, so I save those for writing breaks, or procrastination time! I do listen to music while i write though! I make a playlist of songs that go along with the theme of my story, and also an instrumental playlist that fits the tone of the writing for when I really need to focus. Nature sounds are awesome too! I write best either late at night or WAY early in the morning when my family is reasonably quiet. I’m the only one crazy enough to get up at 5 AM, so that works out grate! And I don’t have a pic of my writing space, but I write at my big corner desk so I can spread all my index cards and notebooks out without worrying about my dog laying on them like he does when they’re on the floor.

  1. How private are you about your novel while you’re writing? Do you need a cheer squad, or do you work alone, (like, ahem, batman)?

I do NOT show anybody the first draft of my work. I don’t mind sharing the synopsis, or little snippets of my writing, but nobody is going to see the whole thing before i edit it!

  1. What keeps you writing even when it’s hard?

J. K. Rolling did it; I can do it too! Maggie stiefvater did it; I can do it too! Kami Garcia did it; I can do it too! People are expecting me to finish this thing, and I AM GOING to finish it!!! I may lose NaNo this year, but I AM NOT going to lose without a fight!!!

  1. What are your top three pieces of writing advice?

Just write; don’t think. Your first draft is going to consist mostly of characters slogging through mud and getting nowhere, but sooner or later one of them might find a diamond.

If you don’t know what to write next, think about the last scene you wrote. Can your character react to it in some way? Does it require further action from one of your characters? What was the purpose of it? Where is it leading you in the future? Don’t think about whether it’s necessary or not, just figure out where it is leading you to go next, then go there.

If you don’t wanna write, suck it up buttercup and write anyway!!! It’s never going to get written if you don’t write it, so you might as well write it now rather than later. If you need an incentive, tell an obnoxious friend or family member that you are going to write insert word goal here in a designated amount of time, and ask them to bug you incessantly until you reach that goal. Trust me… You WILL hit that goal if you pick an obnoxious enough person because you’ll desperately be trying to avoid a text/tweet/phone call from THEM!

That’s it for now! Be sure to go check out all the other Beautiful Books posts, and let me know how your writing is going in the comments! Hopefully it’s going much better than mine!

Happy NaNoWriMo!!! (Tips, Tricks, Panicking, and What to Expect From Me)

Hey readers, writers, and Wrimos! It’s November 1st, aka the first day of the month long insanity known as National Novel Writing Month! Fun fact: NaNoWriMo began in 1999, which is the year I was born, and my birthday is November 18th, which means NaNoWriMo is just 18 days older than me! Look at me do math! I really hope that was right… 😂
So… Since it’s NaNoWriMo, and school has me going slightly insane already, I’m gonna have to rearrange my blogging schedule, (or lack there of), until all this calms down a bit. I’m also helping out with some assistive tech training this month, and I’m going to be traveling for doctor appointments in the near future, so here’s how this is gonna go down.

  1. I’m going to post weekly NaNo tips, (and updates on my progress assuming I get 5 minutes free.) Your NaNo tip for today is… Get WAY ahead on your word count while you’re still super excited about your idea! Trust me… You WILL be sick of your characters and story by the beginning of the third week in, and you will decide that the perfect fix to your plot problem is to drop a giant bolder on all your characters, watch them die in agony, and give them a beautiful funeral as a perfect happy ending to your story. Okay… Maybe that was a BIG exageration, but you get the picture, right??? Yes? Good!
  2. I’ve got some scheduled posts, but they’re kinda scattered randomly throughout the month because… Why would I bauther to put them in a set pattern? So expect some book reviews for books that I read like… six months ago or so.
  3. I’ll probably be doing lots of frantic word sprints, so come join me on Twitter please! I’ll either do my own or join @NaNoWordSprints, but come say hey either way @Cheyenne_writes!
  4. What posts I do write will most likely be written in the car, on my iPad, going through mountains for those doctor appointments I mentioned, so I’m sorry in advance for my typos and horrible grammar. It’ll drive me crazy when I reread things, and then I’ll end up updating everything.
  5. Wait for it… Wait for it… I HIT FIFTY FOLLOWERS!!!!!!! If you follow me on Twitter, you know I was hoping to make that by my birthday, and it actually happened! You guys are amazing, and thank you for reading all my rambling! I know you’re actually reading it because a lot of you like and comment. I like likes and comments! A lot! If you’re a Twitter friend, you also know that I had a writerly surprise planned, and that’s still gonna happen… Just not this month… It’ll probably be December because there is NO way I can keep it up this month, but school will let up a lot in December, so that should work out. Hint, hint: It’s Harry Potter related, and it involves people writing together. I would like to collaborate with a couple of bloggers for this, so drop me a line if you’re interested. Either DM me on Twitter or email me from my contact page. My only requirement is that you write and you blog!

Ok so that post was extremely rambling, but hopefully it was sort of coherent, and I will now sign off and return next week with a NaNo tip! Let me know in the comments how your first day of NaNo went! I’ve hit 1500, and I’m planning to make it to 1670 as soon as I publish this! Message me if you’d like more info on my project, and… I don’t actually know how to end this. Please don’t unfollow me because of this post, and remember to be bookish and stay writerly!
From Cheyenne 🙂

Why I Write: Writing Is My Therapy!

Sometimes only paper will listen to you
Hey awesome writing people! I’ve seen the #WhyIWrite floating around the NaNoWriMo circles all day on Twitter, so I thought I’d give it a go! Warning! You should probably expect lots of rambling!

writing to me is magic, power, freedom, and peace. It gives me the power to create new worlds, new people, new wars, new victories… I can cause heartbreak, sorrow, fear, love, heath, happiness, tears, or smiles with only a few sentences. I can weave stories together with only twenty-six letters and a keyboard. I can teach, guide, and sympathize with many people across the globe through the power of the written word.
With every word I write, I discover something new about myself. In some ways, every bit of my writing holds a piece of myself in it, though I may not realize that it reflects me until I reach the very end. At the end of a rough school week in which nobody adapts things into braille the way it should be done, or technology fails me, or people are just generally being stupid, I get to pick up my notebook and write all of that away. Characters may die, wars may be started between royal families, or best friends may fight, but it’s soothing because it holds my thoughts between the lines.
Writing is strength, and weakness, and fear, and courage, and peace, and power, and truth, and lies. I don’t write for fame, or fortune, or even recognition. I write because I want to tell a good story, to lose myself in the act of creation, to find something about myself that I didn’t know before. I write because words are powerful, and i love that I can preserve that power in some small form. I write because I love the feeling I get when I weave a lie of magic and mystery that holds even the tiniest bit of truth that will help someone know they are not alone in a situation. Maybe a book about “mentally ill” shamans sounds like the complete opposite of real life, but maybe someone who has the same condition will see themself in my characters and know that they, too, can be strong.
It is my goal, and my dream, to be published one day, and my hopes to have a best seller or two. If I don’t become J. K. Rolling famous, I will be fine with that. If I can get just one book into the hands of someone who will love it, I will have fulfilled my mission as a writer. All of that, is why I write.

Why do you write?
Hopefully that wasn’t too terribly rambling and made some kind of sense… I can’t imagine ever reaching a time where i’m not writing, but the reason why I love it is so abstract that it was quite difficult to put into words. I’d love to know why you write in the comments, and drop me a link if you do your own post like this! also, don’t forget to share your thoughts on Twitter with #WhyIWrite! My Twitter handle is @Cheyenne_writes if you wanna tag me… 😉
Happy reading, writing, and rambling to all you fellow writers! I will maybe have a review of The Raven King up tomorrow??? Maybe??? Assuming I don’t drown in numbers from doing Algebra and Chemistry all day! But now I’m gonna go sleep so I might actually finish that stuff and have time to post…
From Cheyenne 🙂

Snippet Sunday #9

To participate in Snippet Sunday:
■Share a snippet of your writing with the world-a sentence, a paragraph, whatever…
■Link to Samantha’s blog.
■Have fun, be bookish, and stay writerly!

Here is another Snippet from Wishes.

The Snippet:

On one side of the world, a boy drifted quietly to sleep in a pool of scarlet blood. On the other side of the world, two blind twins wonder whether their new life would be better or worse. And somewhere in between, two sisters cried themselves to sleep for two different reasons.

Starting NaNoWriMo2016!

Hey y’all! I have officially created my profile for NaNoWriMo2016! I did decide to go with Wishes for my project because a big chunk of the outline fell into place, and now I just really wanna write these awesome characters! Like it fell into place enough for me to write an official synopsis to post to the NaNoWriMo site, and that usually doesn’t happen till long after I’ve started writing! I think it’s a pretty darn good synopsis myself, but it could just be because I wrote it when I had a horrible sinus infection, was running fever, and couldn’t stop coughing… I don’t know… Y’all can read it and tell me if it’s completely horrible! Actually, come to think of it, this post is being written really late because said sinus infection is preventing me from sleeping, so it may be insane too… No more fever, but this cough is miserable, and I have become a mouth breather… Antibiotics are magical stuff though because earlier today I wasn’t quite convinced I didn’t have the Flu! Anyway, with my rant about being sick aside, here is the synopsis I’ll be working with for NaNoWriMo2016! Feel free to check out my profile too, and add me as a writing buddy! Also, if you’re a NanoNewbie, I’d love to mentor you along this crazy journey!

The Synopsis For Wishes:

This world is not made for them, or perhaps they are not made for this world. They have never been anything but “abnormal,” because they are the only ones with their eyes open enough to see the truth. They cannot blend in with all the royals, because their natures will not allow them to play their twisted games of power. They are shamans, mist born, able to see through all the lies. Their just children, really, each born with a gift, (or a curse), as some might call it. But they are strong, and they are wise, and they will fight for truth!
Nico Deverow can see the unseen, and yet he cannot see the one thing that might make it all worth it: his parents who died when he was only three. There is darkness inside him, and he can no longer numb it enough to keep from shattering. Adam has a light inside him, a star in stark contrast to his sisters cruel beauty. He only wants to heal, but perhaps he cannot heal one who does not wish to be healed. Ela is fire and ice together, constantly fighting a battle within her own heart. Diana just wants to be the golden girl-the perfect princess, the Bishop heir, at council gatherings and the innocently pure shaman at Adam’s side. Each of them has a purpose, because nothing is ever done without purpose, even in the Royal Court.

Are You Doing NaNo?

Tell me about your Projects for NaNoWriMo2016 in the comments! I’d love to know what you’re working on! And also, I could really use some plotting and outlining advice because i have awesome characters but am really struggling with the ending of this plot… And I’m signing off now because I reeeeeeeally need to sleep at least a little bit tonight since I have to correct my Algebra test tomorrow…

The Q&A Tag

Thanks so much to Luke Hartman for nominating me for The Q&A tag! His blog is awesome, so you should go check it out! Now… It’s time for me to answer some questions!

The Rules:

  • Link the blogger who nominated you. Answer the questions you’re given. Nominate 10 bloggers. Write out your 10 questions for them. Let them know they’ve been tagged.

My Questions:

  1. What’s your favorite beverage of all time? Uhhhh… Unsweet tea??? Or maybe coffee with chocolate creamer and milk? But I drink mostly water on a regular basis…
  2. Name three fictional characters you would want as roommates. Blue from The Raven cycle, Cath from Fangirl, and luna from Harry Potter.
  3. What is your favorite Shakespeare play? Yell at me in the comments now… I cannot stand Shakespeare. I know he shaped literature and all, but I just don’t get it!
  4. If you were to play a game of chess with a fictional character, who would it be? Umm… Ron from Harry Potter? He’d totally beat me though!
  5. What’s your favorite animated TV show? I just realized it’s been FOREVER since I’ve watched TV! Like I don’t even remember the last time I actually successfully kept up with a TV show because school and blogging and other stuff have kept me running around like a crazy person! So… I guess I don’t have an answer! 😂
  6. What’s your go-to breakfast food? Yogurt! Yep… I’m a health nut! I start my morning with yoga, meditation, and then I eat something healthy like yogurt or fruit or a protein bar.
  7. Hogwarts, Middle Earth, or Narnia? Hogwarts! No question about it!
  8. If you could visit anywhere in the world for a day, where would it be? Hawaii!!!
  9. What’s your favorite emoji? Well… The dagger is the first in my frequently used section, followed by the eye roll face, and then the laughing face with tears. It would normally be the laughing face first but it’s been a not so great school week… 🗡🙄😂
  10. Pick a song that best describes the theme of your favorite book. Favorite book?! Who has a favorite book?! Ok… I’m almost finished with The Raven King right now, and it is quickly making the top of my “favorite books ever” list. And the first song that comes to mind for it is Ravens Still Fly by Southern Raised, and that really kinda goes against the themes a little, but it also fits perfectly, and it’s one of my favorite songs, so…

I Tag:

Elm L Em Danielle Ariana Michelle Debbie Lia Jasmine Trisha

Your Questions:

  1. Name three fictional characters who would either be your best friends or your worst enemies.
  2. Name three songs that describe your personality.
  3. Coffee or tea?
  4. Favorite emoji?
  5. What’s one thing you think would be amazing yet are terrified to do?
  6. What’s the most awkward/embarrassing thing anyone has ever asked/said to you?
  7. What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?
  8. You are given the opportunity to eat lunch with three of your favorite authors/singers/famous people of choice. Who do you invite?
  9. What is the one book/memory/other object you turn to for comfort?
  10. What is one thing you would like the world to know?

*If you’ve already done this tag or just don’t wanna do it, feel free to ignore me completely! And if I didn’t tag you and you wanna do the tag, consider yourself tagged! I can’t wait to see all your answers! From Cheyenne 🙂

Snippet Sunday #8

Once Upon A Time Handwritten I It’s Snippet Sunday time again! To participate… ■Share a snippet of your writing-a sentence, a paragraph, whatever… ■Link your post back to Samantha’s blog, where Snippet Sunday began. ■Have fun, be bookish, and stay writerly!

Ok so I said in my last Snippet Sunday that I wouldn’t be doing Wishes for NaNoWriMo this November, but a giant chunk of the outline fell perfectly into place, so now I’m torn! Writerly wisdom is needed!!! but for now… Here is another snippet from Wishes.

The Snippet:

Nico Deverow had the kinds of secrets that two people could keep only if one of them were dead. And even then it probably wouldn’t stay secret because someone like himself would probably happen upon the spirit of the dead person who knew the secret and convince them to spill everything.
